Overview

The GitLab connector brings repositories, commits, issues, merge requests, and documentation into PipesHub. Engineering teams can query development history, track discussions, and link code changes to documentation or project plans — with full traceability and smart insights.

How it works

PipesHub connects via OAuth or GitLab personal access tokens. It fetches repository metadata, issues, merge requests, discussions, README files, wikis, and commit history. Each element is indexed with authorship, timestamps, and branch details. This supports use cases like “What changed in the billing logic last month?” or “What open bugs are assigned to this repo?”

Configure
  • Generate a GitLab token or register an OAuth app with access to read_api, read_repository, and read_user scopes

  • Enable the GitLab connector in PipesHub

  • Enter GitLab instance URL (cloud or self-hosted), token, and target groups or repos

  • Configure which data types to sync (code, issues, MRs, etc.)

  • Set sync frequency and repository-level access controls
